My Homeroom is a Charlotte-based service that matches families with thoughtful, vetted educators for home-based learning. We are building a small, carefully selected network of educators who believe great teaching is about relationship — not just results.
My Homeroom is not a tutoring app, a staffing agency, or a gig platform. We are a curated matching service — personally connecting families in Charlotte, NC with educators who are the right fit for their child, their home, and their goals.
We were founded on a simple belief: the best learning support comes from the right relationship. That means we take time to understand every family before making a recommendation — and every educator before adding them to our network.
As a My Homeroom educator you are not competing for jobs or cold-messaging strangers. We bring the right families to you — families who have specifically requested someone with your background, your approach, and your availability.
Every engagement is different — that is the point. Here is what you can generally expect.
All sessions take place in the family's home. You are working in a calm, familiar environment where children are most comfortable. Most educators find this makes the work significantly more personal and rewarding.
You decide which days and hours you are available. You decide how many families you take on. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes. Most educators work with two to five families per week.
Every session is one-on-one. Your full attention goes to one learner — their goals, their pace, their specific needs. You are never splitting focus between multiple students.
My Homeroom matches you to families based on your subject expertise and grade level experience. You are not asked to cover subjects outside your area.
Once matched you communicate directly with the family about scheduling, goals, and progress. My Homeroom stays available in the background if you need support.
My Homeroom handles matching, introductions, and payment logistics. You focus on teaching. If a match is not working we address it together — you are never left alone to navigate family issues.
